How to create ftp server in Redhat7 / Centos7 / Fedora

FTP ( File Transfer Protocol ) is used to transfer files between computers on  a network.
Use the Following Commands to Create a FTP Server in Redhat / Centos / Fedora : -

1 ) First of all Download the vsftpd Package form the link below  :-

2) Now Install the Package : -


# rpm -ivh vsftpd-2.2.2-11.el6.x86_64.rpm

3) Now just start the service :-



#systemctl  start vsftpd                                            // command for Redhat 7 / Centos7
#systemctl enable vsftpd                                         //( this commands enables the vsftp service at the system boot)


#service start vsftpd                                                //command for Redhat 6 / Centos7
#systemctl enable vsftpd                                         // (this commands enables the vsftp service at the system boot)

4) Now Apply the Firewall rule :-


#firewall-cmd  --permanent --add-service=ftp

#firewall-cmd  --reload

5) Now our Ftp Server is Ready to use now just check your ipaddress :-


#ifconfig

6) Now Open the firefox browser :-


#firefox

7) Now just open a link on Browser:-



ftp://"your ipaddress"

8) Now your ftp server is ready to upload files and folders  :-

#cd  /var/ftp                ( /var/ftp is the path of ftp where you can upload your files and directory)



9) After you Upload your files and directories just restart the ftp service :-



#systemctl restart vsftpd
